Version A

The Roloff racks have three thin steel bars welded or brazed in place, and two larger pivoting bars. On Version A, the bars are all solid, and the pivoting bars are aluminum. With the fixed bars, the Roloff rack does not have the variable friction capability that normal racks do, but they work well as a lightweight short drop descender,

Version B

All of the bars on Version B are made from stainless steel tubing. This rack is 20% lighter than Version A.
