Storrick MonsteRack

Version A, Version B

Version A

Version B is closer to the original design, and is how version A started out. I borrowed one of the 25 mm. (1 in) bars to put on my Mega-Rack, and replaced it with a 19 mm. (3/4 in) bar. I also deleted the superfluous tubular bar.

Version B

I patterned these racks after Kyle Isenhart's Super Rack design (Nylon Highway #2), which was later commercially produced by as Speleoshoppe's Superack. My bars were slightly longer, so Bob Elron gave it the name MonsteRack. The frame is 304 stainless steel and the bars are 6061-T6 aluminum. Originally I had four 25 mm. (1 in) square bars and a lightweight tubular bar, but I found that the rack didn't have enough friction, so I added two more 19 mm. (3/4 in) square bars. This combination works well.

The top posts are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, but do not support any weight - that is done by the stainless steel nuts recessed into the top bar.
