Howell-N-Mann Twin

The twin is an experimental rack that Larry Howell designed for controlling two ropes simultaneously in a rescue situation. As far as I know, only two were made - this one (the second) at my request. The frame is ASTM grade 6 6Al/4V titanium alloy, and the bars are titanium tubing (same type) with hollow aluminum inserts to absorb and dissipate heat. Note the dimples in the bars - these help hold the aluminum inserts in place.

Larry jokes that this rack is designed to fry hamburgers, but I wouldn't recommend doing that if you ever intend to rappel on it again.
