I acquired this Caving Suppliesrack used on eBay from Dave Metcalfe in 2008. This rack is 360 mm tall, 66 mm wide, and 20 mm thick. Mine weighs 690 g. The reverse-coiled eye is characteristic of Caving Supplies racks, although the coil direction seems to have no functional significance, it does allow a complete loop closure while leaving only a single pass at the base of the eye where one clips in. Unlike the bars on the caving suipplies short rack, these bars have straight slots and lack the turned guide groove. There are no markings on this rack.

I acquired this Caving Supplies rack from Alpinist & Globetrotter at the Internation Congress of Speleology in 1997. This rack is 277 mm tall, 61 mm wide, and 26 mm thick. Mine weighs 501 g.The bars are turned to provide a rope centering groove. Like all short racks, it functions essentially like a constant friction device.
If you noticed that something looks funny in the picture, you have a keen eye. The top and third bars are drilled, not slotted; the second and fourth bars have straight slots, and the bottom bar has an angled slot.

I acquired my Goldlock when Al Fincham visited the U.K. in 1981 and agreed to pick up several items for my collection.
The Goldlock is 299 mm tall, 70 mm wide, and 36 mm thick. Mine weighs 672 g. Although this rack has six bars on it, it is really only long enough for five, and even then, it functions more like a constant friction rappel device.

I acquired my Lewis rack on eBay from Neil Edwards in 2008. The Lewis is 272 mm tall, 63 mm wide, and 24 mm thick. Mine weighs 659 g.
This is a faily standard short rack equipped with five bars, which essentially forces the user to use it as a constant friction device. All five bars have angled slots and have "LEWIS" stamped on the end opposite the slot.
