Small and Large Standard Forged Eights

Table 4: Standard, "Midi" Size, Forged Eights

These are smaller than average, but not so small that they become cumbersome.
Cavers may find that these give too much friction on muddy rope.
Like most eights, all of these are forged from an aluminum alloy.
With the exception of #1174, 1180, 1208, and 1209, all the eights in this table are quite similar except for markings and possibly finish.
With the exception of #1174, 1180, 1208, and 1209, eights in Tables 4 and 5 that have the same finish type are, for practical rappelling purposes, interchangeable.

These eights are similar in those in the previous table, but they also feature a hole for a keeper cord.
I don't have much need for a keeper cord, but if you want to use one, these eights have a place to tie it.
With the exception of #1180, eights in Tables 4 and 5 that have the same finish type are, for practical rappelling purposes, interchangeable.

This takes size reduction to an extreme.
I think that this is too small for practical use in normal situations.
At least one vendor sells this as a PED.

These are larger than normal.
I can't justify the extra size and weight for an eight.
Like most eights, all of these are forged from an aluminum alloy.
The Faders Classic has an extra large eye that allows reversing it for use on thinner ropes.
