I acquired this eight from Ragged Mountain Equipment in 1994.
The Climb High, Version A is forged from aluminum alloy. Mine is 107 mm. tall, 74 mm. wide, and 17 mm. thick. The rope hole is 42 mm. high and 48 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 13 mm. The shaft length and width are 49 mm. and 26 mm, respectively. The eye measures 22 mm by 22 mm. My eight weighs 141 g.
The front is stamped with "Climb High" inside a stamped rectangle, and the rear is stamped "ITALY."
This is a typical example of a full sized, forged, aluminum eight with a rounded shaft. The body is rather fat and well-rounded, so the rope tends to run smoothly. The aluminum surface is soft, so the eight will wear quickly. The eye is too narrow to accept two full size locking carabiners, and it is not designed for belaying.

I acquired this eight from Ragged Mountain Equipment in 1994.
The Climb High, Version B is forged from aluminum alloy and then soft anodized. Mine is 136 mm. tall, 76 mm. wide, and 16 mm. thick. The rope hole is 42 mm. high and 48 mm wide. The top center thickness is 13 mm. The shaft length and width are 49 mm. and 26 mm, respectively. The eye measures 22 mm. by 22 mm. My eight weighs 142 g.
The front is stamped with "Climb High" inside a stamped rectangle, and the rear is stamped "ITALY."
Except for the anodizing, Version A and Version B are identical. They are also essentially identical to the Cassin Version A, Kong-Bonaiti Classic, and Chouinard Version A. The anodizing forms a soft finish, so this eight will wear quickly as well.

I acquired this eight from Beth Penick in 2007.
The Climb High is forged from aluminum alloy and then soft anodized. Mine is 132 mm. tall, 74 mm. wide, and 13 mm. thick. The rope hole is 48 mm. high and 48 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 11 mm. The shaft length and width are 44 mm. and 24 mm, respectively. The eye measures 18 mm. by 25 mm. My eight weighs 103 g.
The front of the shaft is etClimb Highed with the Climb High logo, and the rear is etClimb Highed with "kN 30" and "Made in EEC." The top front of the upper loop is stamped "0403."
The Climb High is is a typical example of a "midi" size, forged, aluminum eight. It is essentially identical to the Advanced Base Camp Versions A and B, AustriAlpin, Camp Version B, Camp/Lowe Versions A and B, CT Ltd., Lucky Ecos Mini, Mammut Versions B and D, and the Salewa Midi. This eight will wear quickly because the soft anodizing provides little protection.
