Fusion Tiny 8

Technical Details

I acquired this eight from Hao Pham in 2007.

The Fusion Tiny 8 is forged from aluminum alloy and then hard anodized. Mine is 143 mm. tall, 76 mm. wide, and 16 mm. thick. The rope hole is 51 mm. high and 51 mm wide. The top center thickness is 12 mm. The shaft length and width are 45 mm. and 26 mm, respectively. The eye measures 26 mm. by 26 mm. My eight weighs 135 g.

The front of the shaft is stamped with "32kN" and a logo.

Comments

The Fusion Tiny 8 is a typical example of a full sized, forged, aluminum figure eight. It is dimensionally similar to the to the Hugh Banner, Lucky Ecos, Mammut Version A, Trango Versions A and B, but it is not the same eight. Not only is the shaft web area smaller, but the perimeter of the eight is cylindrical (note: cylindrical does not mean circular cylindrical!). This should not provide any noticeable difference in handling.
