Quechua

Technical Details

I acquired my Quechua eight from Matthew Collings in 2007.

The Quechua is milled from aluminum alloy. Mine is 122 mm. tall, 75 mm. wide, and 10 mm. thick. The rope hole is 41 mm. high and 53 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 10 mm. The shaft length and width are 38 mm. and 26 mm., respectively. The eye measures 20 mm. by 23 mm. The ears are 2 mm. long. My Quechua weighs 91 g.

The front side of this eight stamped with "Quechua," "DECATHLON", and "30 KNCO1." The rear is stamped with a rigging diagram and an "X"-ed out rigging diagram that shows a standard alternate figure 8 low-friction rigging arrangement.

Comments

The Quechua is a "midi" size figure eight with ears. The Quechua is lighter than most figure eights with ears.The eye is too narrow to accept two full size locking carabiners.
