Bob Thrun mentioned cable pullers in the mechanical ascender chapter of Prusiking, wondering if someone might make a lightweight version for caving use. Rick Banning gave me this one in 1992, which is the same model as the one I used to use for stretching fence on the farm. They grip well on wire, but are too heavy for caving.
