Austrialpin

The Austrialpin is essentially identical to the Stubai Klettersteigbremse, but I saw it marketed as a Personal Escape Device (PED)! I thought that this was a mistake by some clueless rescue equipment distributor (and I DON'T mean On Rope 1 who ordered this for me - they know better), but the instructions that came with the Austrialpin stated that it was a rappel device. It certainly can't be used as they indicated in the instructions, even the drawings showed it being used in the anchor brake configuration. I'm putting it here, where it belongs.
