Long-term Plans
As you can see, this site is perpetually under construction.
I started this in mid-August, 1999, and instead of waiting until
the site was "perfect," I wanted to get something on
line soon. Even at this time, years later, I still have more to
add.This is a noncommercial site (I'm a user, I don't sell equipment),
I have to fit working on this into my spare time. My general plans
are to continue developing the site in the following order:
- The highest priority is to review new, currently available
equipment that is donated to my collection by the manufacturer
or their distributors and dealers. I don't promise to like everything,
but I will try give an honest assessment as soon as practicable.
- I try to create pages for all of the equipment that I currently
own. This task is ongoing as I acquire and test new devices.
For now, some of the descriptions are informal and were written
quickly as I created the pages. In general, these descriptions
accurately portray some of my opinions, but they tend to be rather
incomplete. I want to expand on these wherever I can, but each
time I acquiring something new, I start falling behind again.
- Occassionally I need to go back and reshoot some of the photographs.
In particular, some of the existing photos are blurred. I flag
the worst ones with the "blurry eyes"
icon
until I get a chance to fix these. I try not to let this happen
too often.
- Some of the descriptions of the bobbins and eccentric cam
ascenders came from articles that I published in The Nylon Highway a number of years
ago. These were in the "Technical Description/Comment"
format. I plan to eventually describe (almost) everything in
this format.
- I would like to add a manufacturers page that also lists
the equipment that I have from each one.
- I would like to add a few pages on equipment usage once everything
else is in place.
- There are always spelling and grammatical errors to be corrected!
I correct these as I find them, and occassionaly make a concerted
effort to systematically review each description - usually during
the NSS Conventions.
