I don't take the Chouinard 11 seriously. There is not enough metal to allow any significant wear, and there is no hard coating to prevent the device from wearing quickly. At least the the CMI Micro is hard coated. The Chouinard 11 is too small to grip while in use, and it has little heat absorption capacity. I give this one the lemon award.

Functionally, the 11/11 is a fairly standard "Sticht" type belay device. Although smaller than most, it is large enough to handle, and has some margin for wear at each end. Being so small, it has little heat absorption capacity. The REI 11/11 is similar.
