I acquired my Cassin Logic, Version A from Karst Sports in 1995.
The Cassin Logic, Version A is forged from aluminum alloy. Mine is 114 mm tall, 57 mm wide, and 12 mm thick. Mine weighs 87 g.
One side of this Logic is stamped with the Cassin logo and "ITALY."
Comments:The Cassin Logic is quite different from a slotted ("Sticht") plate or belay tube, so it is important to read the instructions. While the climber is climbing, the tag end of the rope is run over the top of the device to hold it out of the V slot. When the climber falls, the rope falls off the top of the device and wedges in the slot, arresting the fall.
The instructions
state that the "Logic is not a figure
8 and should not be used as such." In other words, you
will need to carry a separate rappel device. This is one reason
that I seldom use my Logic.
If you like the Logic but need to be able to handle double
ropes, the Cassin Twin might
be what you are looking for.

I acquired my Cassin Logic, Version B from Mountainland Outdoor in 2007.
The Cassin Logic, Version B is forged from aluminum alloy and then hard coated. Mine is 115 mm tall, 56 mm wide, and 12 mm thick. Mine weighs 91 g.
One side of this Logic is stamped with the Cassin logo and "ITALY."
Although the Logic wears well without it, the hard coating will let Version B wear better than Version A.
