I read about the Salewa ascender long before I was able to obtain one, so I fashioned one out of 1/4-inch aluminum. Version A is larger than the original, and should be used with larger slings.

Some good friends that I've never met were asking about the Salewa ascender, so I made a batch of them in September, 2008. I used the original Salewa ascender as a pattern. This time I had a milling machine available, so the end product looks better as well.
