In elementary school science we all learned that a type 2 lever has the load between the fulcrum and the applied force, so it made sense for me to define a Type 2 Lever Cam Ascender as one where the rope was between the sling and the pivot. This is an unusual arrangement for an ascender, and only the Petzl Shunt and its copies use it.
